Stanley H. Block M.D.

Stanley H. Block, M.D., is Adjunct Professor of Law and Psychiatry at Seattle University School of Law and Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at University of Utah School Of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis. He has had academic appointments and taught at a number of medical schools, including his alma mater UCLA. Before entering medical school, he received an M.A. in physics at the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Block is currently developing medical applications and practice centers based on Bridging the I-System® principles. He lives in Tacoma, Washington with his wife and collaborator Carolyn Bryant Block.

• Chairman of the Board of Directors, President, and Founder:
  Portland Help Center
  Originated a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the
  needs of the area’s homeless and chronically mentally ill through
  outreach and outpatient services. Assembled and supervised a staff
  of psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers. Organization presently
  continues to function and expand services.
• President: Advanced Clinical Designs, Inc.
  Originated and supervised an incorporated group of medical
  professionals providing consulting to institutions throughout New
  England. Dedicated to improving clinical services in substance
  abuse and dual diagnosis programs.
• President: Eastern Maine Psychiatric Associates, P.A.
  Originated and supervised a professional association of
  psychiatrists providing inpatient and outpatient treatment in
  Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine.
• President: B &H Medical Services, P.A.
  Originated and supervised a group of medical professionals
  providing inpatient and outpatient services in the areas of
  substance abuse and dual diagnosis treatment at Jackson Brook
  Institute in South Portland, Maine.

  southern Maine.

  association in Maine, consisting of board certified adult, adolescent,
  and child psychiatrists providing a complete continuum of care to
  patients throughout Maine. Services were provided to schools,
  prisons, jails, nursing homes, general hospitals, psychiatric
  hospitals, outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization programs,
  outreach for the homeless, eating disorder programs, substance
  abuse programs, child and adolescent programs, geriatric programs,
  involuntary programs, and forensic psychiatry programs.
• Medical Director: Jackson Brook Institute
  JBI is a private, 105 bed psychiatric hospital, providing a full
  continuum of treatment services to patients of all ages throughout
  northern New England. Achievements as director include the
  initialization and development of Maine’s first children’s unit,
  an eating disorder program, a dual diagnosis program, and a closed
  unit for the State’s most difficult and aggressive patients.
